Greenwich Police say they investigated a report of an assault that occurred in the lot on West Putnam Avenue on Friday, July 5.
Statements from the victim report that she was physically assaulted by a man she knows, identified as Jose Rohena, 30, police say.
During the assault, police say Rohena threatened to cause further harm to the victim and her family and prevented her from calling 911.
The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries. Police say a minor child was also present during the attack, though they were not injured.
Police investigation led to the development of probable cause to obtain a warrant for Rohena’s arrest. He turned himself in on Monday, July 8 and faces the following charges:
- Risk of injury to a child
- Second-degree breach of peace
- Interfering with an emergency call
- Second-degree assault
- First-degree threatening
- First-degree reckless endangerment
Rohena was processed and released on a $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, July 9.
